A7-001: Opener Alignment Error

What it means:

Ovvi was unable to measure the can’s height so it could not be opened. The new unopened can has been placed into the Used Can Chute. Ovvi will move on to the next new can if available.

How to fix it:

If this happens only once:

  1. First - do nothing — Ovvi will continue feeding using the next can.
  2. Recover the unopened can later when you eject the used cans.  You can re-load the unopened cans into the New Can Chute as long as they were not damaged or dented.  Make sure to load all new cans lip side up.  Load at least 1 new can.

If this happens multiple times in a row:

    1. Unplug Ovvi.

    2. Remove the Chute System. (NOTE: See the Important Note section below for guidance on when it is safe to remove the Chute System and when it is not.)

    3. Eject all used cans and salvage the unopened cans.  You can re-load the unopened cans into the New Can Chute as long as they were not damaged or dented.  Make sure to load all new cans lip side up.  Load at least 1 new can.

    4. Plug Ovvi back in.

    5. Place the Chute System back into Ovvi. Ovvi should now operate as normal.

Important: Don’t Remove the Chute While Ovvi Is Active

Please do not attempt to remove the chute system if:

  • You hear Ovvi’s internal gears or motors working

  • The front LED light is pulsing or rotating

  • Ovvi is in the middle of a feeding

During these times, Ovvi’s internal chute lock system is engaged and will prevent removal. If you feel resistance, do not forcefully pull — this can damage both the chute system and Ovvi’s internal structure.

Wait until Ovvi is:

  • Completely silent

  • Showing a solid color LED light (any color is OK)

  • Not opening the food door when you approach (because the scheduled portion has already been eaten)

That’s when it’s safe to remove the chute system.
