A6-002: No New Cans Detected

What it means:

Ovvi wasn’t able to complete its internal chute reset because no new cans were detected in the New Can Chute. If no new cans are found, this alert will appear to ensure your cat doesn’t miss a meal.

NOTE: If this error appears during a reset or troubleshooting process, you will need to place at least one new can into the New Can Chute for the process to complete successfully.”

How to fix it:

1. If this error appears on its own (and not while troubleshooting another error):

    • Remove the Chute System. (NOTE: See the Important Note section below for guidance on when it is safe to remove the Chute System and when it is not.)
    • Place at least one new can into the New Can Chute.
    • Reinsert the Chute System — Ovvi will automatically resume its normal feeding functions once the new can is loaded and the chute is back in place.

NOTE: Make sure to eject all used cans and lids when reloading the Chute System with new cans.

2. If this error appears while troubleshooting another error:

    • Follow the instructions for troubleshooting the other error.

See the video below for a step-by-step visual guide on how to eject empty cans and load new ones!

Important: Don’t Remove the Chute While Ovvi Is Active

Please do not attempt to remove the chute system if:

  • You hear Ovvi’s internal gears or motors working

  • The front LED light is pulsing or rotating

  • Ovvi is in the middle of a feeding

During these times, Ovvi’s internal chute lock system is engaged and will prevent removal. If you feel resistance, do not forcefully pull — this can damage both the chute system and Ovvi’s internal structure.

Wait until Ovvi is:

  • Completely silent

  • Showing a solid color LED light (any color is OK)

  • Not opening the food door when you approach (because the scheduled portion has already been eaten)

That’s when it’s safe to remove the chute system.
