A2-001: Can Rejected
What it means:
A new can was not able to be opened properly and was moved to the Used Can Chute without being used.
Depending on the cause, the can may have been:
-
Not opened at all (if loaded upside down, lip facing down).
-
Partially opened (if a cutting error occurred and the lid wasn’t removed cleanly).
-
Partially opened (if the can was dented and the dent interfered with the opener).
If additional new cans are available, Ovvi will automatically move on to the next one. The meal and can count within the Ovvi Pet Feeder app will automatically update based on the loss of this can.
How to fix it:
-
If this was the last can, reload new cans as soon as possible or make alternate feeding arrangements for your cat.
-
Wait until Ovvi is not performing any processes.
-
Remove the Chute System. (NOTE: See the Important Note section below for guidance on when it is safe to remove the Chute System and when it is not.)
-
Eject the used cans to recover any that were unopened or only partially opened.
-
If the recovered can is not heavily damaged, you may reload it into the New Can Chute correctly (lip facing up). Dented cans should not be used.
Important: Don’t Remove the Chute While Ovvi Is Active
Please do not attempt to remove the chute system if:
-
You hear Ovvi’s internal gears or motors working
-
The front LED light is pulsing or rotating
-
Ovvi is in the middle of a feeding
During these times, Ovvi’s internal chute lock system is engaged and will prevent removal. If you feel resistance, do not forcefully pull — this can damage both the chute system and Ovvi’s internal structure.
Wait until Ovvi is:
-
Completely silent
-
Showing a solid color LED light (any color is OK)
-
Not opening the food door when you approach (because the scheduled portion has already been eaten)
That’s when it’s safe to remove the chute system.
